PASTORALISTS TO MEET IN PERTH

The PGA’s Pastoral Committee will combine with the Agriculture Protection Board for a two-day Annual Conference at the Esplanade River Suites (formerly Pagoda) in Como on April 16 and 17.

 

Joint hosting of the Annual Conference in Perth is designed to contain costs and increase value for attendees.

 

APB delegates will meet on the Thursday with a welcome from Chairman Chris Richardson at 8:30am and Zone Control Authority reports and research updates before lunch at 12:45pm.

 

Speakers in the afternoon will be Pastoral Lands Board Chairman Prof Graeme Robertson, Water Minister Hon Dr Graham Jacobs MLA, Environment Minister Hon Ms Donna Faragher MLC and Hon Wendy Duncan MLC, Chair of the Southern Rangelands Advisory Group.

 

APB and PGA will jointly host a dinner for stakeholders at 7.00pm on Thursday night 

 

The PGA Pastoral Conference will be held on Friday, April 17.

 

Friday’s Conference will begin with a bus tour for pastoralists of the Wellard feedlots and rural export facilities at 8.00am.  Delegates will return to Como for lunch at noon.

 

Transport Minister Simon O’Brien MLC will open the conference at 1:30pm followed by Hon Vince Catania MLA who will speak on the Review of the Firearms Act and David Warburton, DAFWA will address the topic of Lease Inspections – alternative methods.  There will also be an update from PGA President Rob Gillam before General Business and District Committee motions          

 

The Conference will end with a PGA Sundowner at 5.00pm.
